    <description>NAHC First to Offer Socially Driven Awards Program

Minnetonka, MN &amp;ndash;&amp;nbsp; North American Hunter, the premier community for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts, is proud to announce the first annual North American Hunter&amp;rsquo;s Social Choice Awards, a socially driven poll-based award program that is unlike other industry award programs. North American Hunter is on the hunt to find the best &amp;ldquo;Magnum Gobbler Gun&amp;rdquo; and &amp;ldquo;Strut-Stopper Load&amp;rdquo; during the &amp;ldquo;Turkey Edition&amp;rdquo; of the awards. Plans are in the works to release other editions this year.

Voting takes place now until May 31 on North American Hunter&amp;rsquo;s Facebook page. The winners in each category will receive an award, be featured on NAH&amp;rsquo;s main site and a blog post. The &amp;ldquo;Social Media Awards&amp;rdquo; are completely driven by social media &amp;ndash; specifically by using a poll on North American Hunters Facebook page.

&amp;ldquo;We know our member hunting enthusiasts are using social media to share reviews, show new product finds and otherwise engage on the latest in hunting gear. It made sense for us to poll them for this turkey season to see what our fans think are the best products out there,&amp;rdquo; said Ben Gustafson, Social Media Editor.

The following products are being polled in the &amp;ldquo;Magnum Gobbler Gun&amp;rdquo; category:
Benelli: SBEII Turkey Edition
Beretta: A391 XTREMA 2
Browning: Maxus
Mossberg: 835 Ulti-Mag Synthetic
Remington: VersaMax
Winchester: Super X Pump Turkey Hunter

The following products are being polled in the &amp;ldquo;Strut-Stopper Load&amp;rdquo; category:
Federal: Mag-Shok Heavy Weight Turkey
HEVI-Shot: Hevi-Metal Turkey
Hornady: Heavy Magnum Turkey
Kent: Five Star Penetrator Hybrid Turkey
Remington: Premier High Velocity Magnum Turkey
Winchester: Supreme Elite Xtended Range HD

Results of the poll will be announced after May 31 at huntingclub.com

    <description>New Product Testing Site Exclusive to Members Continually Introduces New Products for Review

Minnetonka, MN &amp;ndash; North American Fishing Club, the premier community for anglers and outdoor enthusiasts, is proud to announce their product testing powered by StuffStuff is growing strong by recently adding numerous new products to test, which drove traffic to nearly 4 million pageviews. StuffStuff is a product testing site for members where they get to test AND keep free stuff.&amp;nbsp;
Members have been able to review products from everything from baits to sunglasses to rods and reels. For example, recently, 167 testers were selected to review the Rod Strap from Western Excursions. &amp;ldquo;We know product testing is one of the biggest advantages to being a North American Fishing Club member,&amp;rdquo; said Branigan Weber, Field Test Editor. &amp;ldquo;Our members are able to use social media to enhance the evaluation of the products in new ways &amp;ndash; and they receive great benefits for doing so.&amp;rdquo;

StuffStuff has produced tremendous results for manufacturers like Solar Bat Sunglasses, Seaguar Fishing Line, Aqua Vu, SilverThread and others. &amp;nbsp;For Solar Bat Sunglasses, 96 percent of testers returned the final report resulting in a fantastic rating. &amp;nbsp;The social media interaction was exceptional with more than 200 new likes driven to Solar Bat&amp;rsquo;s Facebook page, 300 posts about the Solar bat sunglasses to individuals&amp;rsquo; timelines and nearly 300 tweets about the product. One tester said in a review, &amp;ldquo;I have used these many times and can see clearer and farther than any sporting glasses I have used in the past.&amp;rdquo;

Over the last year, North American Fishing Club has made enhancements to StuffStuff to include a major social media interface that&amp;rsquo;s measurable and beneficial to manufacturers. &amp;ldquo;The social media interface is the greatest part for a manufacturer who is looking for ROI on their product being tested. As soon as members receive their product, they are given the opportunity to rack up points by sharing their review via a YouTube video, a Facebook post or a Tweet,&amp;rdquo; said Katie Ciernia, Sr. Manager for StuffStuff. &amp;ldquo;The more the member does to share his or her review socially, even &amp;ldquo;Liking&amp;rdquo; the manufacturer&amp;rsquo;s page, the more points they receive and the more elite stuff they can review in the future.&amp;rdquo;&amp;nbsp;

Another benefit for manufactures listing their products with StuffStuff is the inclusion in the club&amp;rsquo;s magazine showcasing features, benefits and tester rating.

    <description>Minnetonka, MN &amp;ndash; &amp;nbsp;April&amp;rsquo;s edition of North American Fisherman reminds anglers to &amp;ldquo;Keep America Fishing&amp;rdquo; by offering a fresh look at traditional strategies. In &amp;ldquo;Artificials Only&amp;rdquo; Dan Johnson, helps us &amp;ldquo;kick&amp;rdquo; the live bait habit for more walleyes throughout season. &amp;ldquo;Crankbaits and soft baits aren&amp;rsquo;t new, through the innovative insight from NAFC members&amp;mdash;forged on the unforgiving proving grounds of professional guiding and competitive angling&amp;mdash;brings a whole playbook to the walleye game,&amp;rdquo; explains Johnson.

Other articles include: &amp;ldquo;Unnatural Attraction&amp;rdquo; by David Hart where he argues sometimes matching the hatch isn&amp;rsquo;t always the best approach when trying to convince finicky trout to eat. And &amp;ldquo;Pack a Punch!&amp;rdquo; by Mark Hicks, explains why an assortment of punch baits need to be in your arsenal to effectively extract bass from dense vegetation.

More than 500 members tested products in the Field Test section powered by StuffStuff. <title>Talkin’ Turkey in March Digital issue of North American Hunter </title>
    <link>http://www.northamericanmediagroup.com/PRESS/tabid/84/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/36/Talkin-Turkey-in-March-Digital-issue-of-North-American-Hunter.aspx</link>
    <description>Minnetonka, MN &amp;ndash; The staff of North American Hunting Club are only talkin&amp;rsquo; turkey this time of year and that&amp;rsquo;s the focus of the March digital issue of North American Hunter now available at HuntingClub.com.&amp;nbsp; North American Hunter is a member-exclusive magazine of the North American Hunting Club, the premier community for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts.

&amp;ldquo;During the course of the past decade or so, spring turkey hunting has gone from a pastime enjoyed by a small number of wild-eyed, sleep-deprived die-hards, to a passion shared by millions of hunters,&amp;rdquo; said Gordy Krahn, Editor-in-Chief for North American Hunter. &amp;ldquo;Not coincidentally, this rise in popularity corresponds with a boom in wild turkey populations across North America. Much of that thanks goes to National Wild Turkey Federation, who has helped bring turkey populations from 1.9 million in 1973 to nearly 7 million today.&amp;rdquo;

Keeping with the theme of spring turkey madness, NAH staff consensus is you can never have too many turkey calls as they review the latest ones in &amp;ldquo;Talking Turkey.&amp;rdquo; NAH staff also reviews turkey-specific shotguns in &amp;ldquo;Big Guns,&amp;rdquo; and you can&amp;rsquo;t have a conversation about guns without also talking about shotshells, so the staff reviews turkey-killing loads in &amp;ldquo;Strut-Stopping Shotshells.&amp;rdquo; Finally, read up on decoys that get the job done in &amp;ldquo;The Great Fakes.&amp;rdquo;

Don&amp;rsquo;t miss the Field Test section powered by StuffStuff. More than 400 members tested products valued at nearly $50,000 in this issue, including the Vanguard Spirit Ed 1042 bino and the Columbia baselayer system. To see what NAHC StuffStuff testers said about these products, and to learn how to become a field tester, visit StuffStuff.com.

    <link>http://www.northamericanmediagroup.com/PRESS/tabid/84/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/35/North-American-Fishing-Club-Announces-StuffStuff-Enhanced-Product-Testing.aspx</link>
    <description>Minnetonka, MN &amp;ndash; Field testing has just been given a measurable boost thanks to North American Fishing Club&amp;rsquo;s enhancement of their product testing feature to create StuffStuff &amp;ndash; a product testing site for members where they get to test AND keep free stuff.

The enhancements to StuffStuff include a major social media interface that&amp;rsquo;s measurable and beneficial to manufacturers. &amp;ldquo;The social media interface is the greatest part for a manufacturer who is looking for ROI on their product being tested. As soon as members receive their product, they are given the opportunity to rack up points by sharing their review via a YouTube video, a Facebook post or a Tweet,&amp;rdquo; said Katie Ciernia, Sr. Manager for StuffStuff. &amp;ldquo;The more the member does to share his or her review socially, even &amp;ldquo;Liking&amp;rdquo; the manufacturer&amp;rsquo;s page, the more points they receive and the more elite stuff they can review in the future.&amp;rdquo;

Each product has its own page including long and short descriptions, reviews, specifications, and Facebook comments. Members and manufacturers can see what other testers think about the products they have tested on StuffStuff&amp;rsquo;s website. Members who receive free product go through a screening process to ensure the product gets in the hands of someone highly likely to use it &amp;ndash; and therefore review it.

&amp;ldquo;Our product testing program is one of North American Fishing Club&amp;rsquo;s biggest membership values. With this new approach &amp;ndash; which shows in real time values like the number &amp;lsquo;Likes&amp;rsquo; on Facebook to the number of reviews - we&amp;rsquo;ve created a specific, measureable system that makes Marketing Managers look good,&amp;rdquo; said Ciernia.

Another benefit for manufactures listing their products with StuffStuff is the inclusion in the club&amp;rsquo;s magazine showcasing features, benefits and tester rating. For example, the last issue of North American Fisherman showcased several StuffStuff products reviewed by more than 900 members.

To become a tester for StuffStuff, or list your products as a manufacturer, visit: stuffstuff.com. Testers must be members of the club they are testing.

    <title>North American Fisherman Celebrates 25 Years of the Best in Fishing</title>
    <link>http://www.northamericanmediagroup.com/PRESS/tabid/84/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/34/North-American-Fisherman-Celebrates-25-Years-of-the-Best-in-Fishing.aspx</link>
    <description>Minnetonka, MN &amp;ndash; North American Fisherman is proud to celebrate 25 years of the best advice, fishing tactics, top gear and commentary from the best on the water with their March issue. This month&amp;rsquo;s magazine also has a special feature on crappie fishing and Carolina rigging strategies, part eight of the Fish Response System (FRS). North American Fisherman is a member-exclusive magazine of the North American Fishing Club, the premier community for anglers and outdoor enthusiasts.

&amp;ldquo;The first issue in June, 1988 had a brown trout gracing the cover and inside readers learned about the six best trout flies at that time. Looking past all the photos of anglers wearing high-crown caps and short fishing shorts that were the style in those days, it is clear NAFC&amp;rsquo;s mission is the same then as it is now &amp;ndash; to help Club members improve their fishing skills and enjoy more productive time on the water,&amp;rdquo; said Kurt Beckstrom, North American Fisherman Editor-in-Chief.

Readers can also look forward the NAF staff review of 2013 rods that made their short list and the NAFC Gear Giveaway (exclusive NAFC member benefit) offers an opportunity to win an Okuma spinning reel. Additional reads include: &amp;ldquo;The Harvest Factor&amp;rdquo; by Dr. Hal Schramm, which looks at what anglers say they want (great fisheries) compared to what they actually do and finds that they are often two different things. Plus, David Hart gives readers tips and techniques to catch the big bronzebacks in &amp;ldquo;Smallmouths Now!&amp;rdquo;

    <title>North American Hunter Announces StuffStuff: Enhanced Product Testing </title>
    <link>http://www.northamericanmediagroup.com/PRESS/tabid/84/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/32/North-American-Hunter-Announces-StuffStuff-Enhanced-Product-Testing.aspx</link>
    <description>Minnetonka, MN &amp;ndash; Field testing has just been given a measurable boost thanks to North American Hunter&amp;rsquo;s enhancement of their product testing feature to create StuffStuff &amp;ndash; a product testing site for members where they get to test AND keep free stuff.

The enhancements to StuffStuff include a major social media interface that&amp;rsquo;s measurable and beneficial to manufacturers. &amp;ldquo;The social media interface is the greatest part for a manufacturer who is looking for ROI on their product being tested. As soon as members receive their product, they are given the opportunity to rack up points by sharing their review via a YouTube video, a Facebook post or a Tweet,&amp;rdquo; said Katie Ciernia, Sr. Manager for StuffStuff. &amp;ldquo;The more the member does to share his or her review socially, even &amp;ldquo;Liking&amp;rdquo; the manufacturer&amp;rsquo;s page, the more points they receive and the more elite stuff they can review in the future.&amp;rdquo;

&amp;ldquo;Our product testing program is one of North American Hunter&amp;rsquo;s biggest membership values.

For example, the last issue of North American Hunter showcased several StuffStuff products reviewed by more than 250 members.

To become a tester for StuffStuff, or list your products as a manufacturer, visit: stuffstuff.com. Testers must be members of the club they are testing.

About StuffStuff
StuffStuff is an online program that brings Testers and Manufacturers together. Testers can apply to review stuff they are interested in, become product ambassadors and earn points to test better and more elite stuff. Manufacturers can get their stuff in the hands of their target market. Launched in June of 2012, StuffStuff is currently available to members in North American Hunting Club, North American Fishing Club, Handyman Club of America and National Home Gardening Club and Cooking Club of America. To become a tester for StuffStuff, visit: stuffstuff.com/Register/Join.aspx. If you are a manufacturer and would like to list your product, visit stuffstuff.com/ListProducts</description>

Matthew Marsh, known to most as &amp;ldquo;Herk,&amp;rdquo; is an NAHC Life Member and a NRA Chief Range Officer. He&amp;rsquo;s also a Maryland Hunter Education Instructor and has been volunteering as a hunter education instructor for West Virginia for the past two years. In addition, Herk is a muzzleloader, bowhunting and treestand safety instructor. With Herk, mentoring has also become a family affair: His wife, Jackie, and young son, Josh, are both Maryland hunter education instructors as well, with Josh being a junior instructor.

&amp;ldquo;We have a time-honored tradition at North American Hunter to give back while recognizing those who give more to our industry,&amp;rdquo; said Gordy Krahn, Editor-in-Chief North American Hunter. &amp;ldquo;Herk truly epitomizes what it means to be a mentor and what our Mentor of the Year is all about. We congratulate him on this high honor.&amp;rdquo;

&amp;ldquo;To have been deemed worthy of this nomination by my friend and fellow NAHC Life Member and peer is humbling,&amp;rdquo; said Marsh on his nomination. &amp;ldquo;Then I was notified that I was selected as one of the Top 5 finalists, which totally blew me away. Like a lot of other mentors across the country, I don&amp;rsquo;t do it for the recognition: I volunteer my time for the young people and new outdoorsmen out there. To win this award is a true honor and a highlight of my life&amp;mdash;one I will always treasure. I appreciate it very much and thank all members who voted for me.&amp;rdquo;

Marsh has provided mentoring/instruction for the following groups: Jennings Randolph Lake Handicapped/Challenged Hunts (for physically challenged individuals); the Boy Scouts of America (where Herk and Jackie started out as Cub Scout pack leaders, teaching scouts to shoot bows and pellet guns); and with the Cumberland, Maryland, 4-H Shotgun Shooting program.

The Jennings Randolph Lake Handicapped/Challenged Hunts are for both youth and adults, and they give physically challenged hunters the opportunity to experience a deer hunt. Herk and others help them overcome their disabilities so they can be successful in the hunt and be able to enjoy the experience.

Marsh credits his late grandfather to teaching him everything he knows about hunting, fishing and the outdoors&amp;mdash;and especially about ethics and conservation. Herk&amp;rsquo;s been passing on these lessons to his son, nephews, nieces, a younger brother and many of the Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania youngsters that he&amp;rsquo;s worked with through the years.

&amp;ldquo;I was fortunate enough to have a grandfather who loved being in the outdoors,&amp;rdquo; added Marsh. &amp;ldquo;He shared his love for these activities with his children and grandchildren. He taught us to appreciate nature&#39;s beauty, to protect it, and to share it with others. &amp;lsquo;Pap&amp;rsquo; taught us from an early age to fish, shoot and hunt&amp;mdash;to be respectful of the outdoors and the wildlife that&amp;rsquo;s a part of it. It&amp;rsquo;s because of his dedication to us kids that I enjoy working with youth and adults, passing on what he&amp;rsquo;s taught me. It&amp;rsquo;s always a joy to have some youngster approach me and tell me I was one of their instructors when they took their hunter education class, or that I&amp;rsquo;d helped them with their shooting at one of our local Jr. Hunter Field Days.&amp;rdquo;

As part of winning this honor, Marsh will receive a trip to Las Vegas to attend the Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show, a spring turkey hunt and other prizes from sponsors.&amp;nbsp;

    <description>Minnetonka, MN &amp;ndash; North American Media Group, the premier community for hunters, anglers and outdoor enthusiasts, is honored to celebrate Wildlife Forever&amp;rsquo;s 25th anniversary today, December 10. Wildlife Forever is America&#39;s leading all-species nonprofit conservation organization that was established and funded by North American Hunting Club and North American Fishing Club in 1987. Today, Wildlife Forever works with conservation groups and state and federal agencies and has been involved in more than 1,000 projects across the U.S.

The 25 year partnership between North American Hunting Club (NAHC), North American Fishing Club (NAFC) and Wildlife Forever has generated an increased awareness in conservation projects within the outdoor community. This partnership has also established relationships amongst the organization that educates sportsmen of all ages.

&quot;After a quarter century of working for fish and wildlife, I find our path leads to building stewardship.&amp;nbsp; Our signature programs include the Threat Campaign(tm), educating hunters, anglers and all recreational users to stop the spread of invasive species and the State-Fish Art(r) Contest, a nationwide competition teaching aquatic education through the arts.&amp;nbsp; Our goal is to get the public, especially kids, outside to build stewardship and pass on the outdoor traditions our members value and enjoy.&quot; said Doug Grann, President &amp;amp; CEO of Wildlife Forever.

&amp;ldquo;Our staff and members&amp;rsquo; involvement in conservation issues is more critical today, especially during these challenging times,&amp;rdquo; said Kurt Beckstrom, Editor-in-Chief for North American Fisherman.&amp;nbsp; &amp;ldquo;North American Fishing Club and Wildlife Forever members have always joined together to help fish and wildlife conservation efforts.&amp;rdquo;

&amp;ldquo;Together, our magazines donate more than $200,000 of media though our partnership to help spread the message of stewardship,&amp;rdquo; said Gordy Krahn, Editor-in-Chief for North American Hunter.

What does the next 25 years look like for Wildlife Forever? Grann explains the organization will expand the outreach on stopping the spread of invasive species. &amp;ldquo;We are now the lead organization for the international campaign for Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers through the USFWS. We will be hiring soon to expand efforts and help states.&amp;rdquo;

&amp;nbsp;
To help Wildlife Forever, visit www.wildlifeforever.org to see all the opportunities of how you can become involved today.
&amp;nbsp;
&amp;ldquo;I want to thank each and every one of the NAHC and NAFC members for helping Wildlife Forever along the path over the years,&amp;rdquo; said Grann.&amp;nbsp; &amp;ldquo;I am thankful for the foresight and contributions of everyone who played a role in making Wildlife Forever a national conservation success.&amp;rdquo;

    <title>A Thanksgiving Youth Hunt and Alberta Whitetails on This Week’s Episode of North American Hunter</title>
    <link>http://www.northamericanmediagroup.com/PRESS/tabid/84/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/24/A-Thanksgiving-Youth-Hunt-and-Alberta-Whitetails-on-This-Weeks-Episode-of-North-American-Hunter.aspx</link>
    <description>Minnetonka, MN&amp;nbsp; &amp;ndash; Taking advantage of Thanksgiving break, North American Hunter&amp;rsquo;s Mark Kayser brings his daughter with him on a whitetail prairie hunt in southeast Montana.&amp;nbsp; She already bagged her 5x5 deer, now it&amp;rsquo;s his turn and she&amp;rsquo;s his wing man. Then, the crew heads to southern Alberta, Canada, where they road test new shotgun slugs as they hunt for whitetails. Tune in to North American Hunter on NBC Sports Network Tuesdays at 10 a.m., Thursdays at 2:30 p.m., Fridays at 11 a.m. and Sundays at 11:30 p.m. (ET). North American Hunter is part of the North American Hunting Club, the premier community for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts.

Since Mark&amp;rsquo;s daughter, Katelyn, already tagged her deer, she was rattling and grunting as his partner to see the family complete another successful whitetail hunt. And she&amp;rsquo;s pretty good at her job as they immediately see big bucks coming into rifle range. &amp;ldquo;I thought long and hard about taking this buck that came in real close. I had my daughter at my side and the sun at our backs. But I took a deep breath and a step back as I didn&amp;rsquo;t want to rush the hunt,&amp;rdquo; said Kayser.

Kayser let that one go, but will he get a second chance while at this beautiful Montana ranch?

Meanwhile, the NAH crew heads up to southern Alberta for a whitetail slug gun hunt. There, they had to use classic spot-and-stalk techniques to find their deer. The deer they found, but they didn&amp;rsquo;t expect the herd of elk to come in and disperse the whitetails so quickly! Now they are back to glassing and stalking to find the spooked deer&amp;rsquo;s favorite hiding spot.

Also in this week&amp;rsquo;s episode, tune in for Kayser and North American Hunter Sr. Editor, Luke Hartle, discuss a difficult shot in &amp;ldquo;You Call the Shots.&amp;rdquo; A massive buck was high-tailing it across a corn field under Kayser&amp;rsquo;s watch, but he didn&amp;rsquo;t take the shot. Hartle argues that since it was a linear run, and he was a larger buck, therefore moving slower, he could have got the shot off well. What would you do?

    <title>Wolf Wars: When Science Trumps Emotion in December/January Issue of North American Hunter</title>
    <link>http://www.northamericanmediagroup.com/PRESS/tabid/84/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/23/Wolf-Wars-When-Science-Trumps-Emotion-in-DecemberJanuary-Issue-of-North-American-Hunter.aspx</link>
    <description>Minnetonka, MN &amp;ndash; Whether you believe the wolf to be a saint or a sinner, you won&amp;rsquo;t want to miss December/January issue of North American Hunter. The focus of this issue is on wolf hunting &amp;ndash; the history of it, how we got here and, as hunters, what it means to us (besides the ability to fill a tag). But let us not forget that it&amp;rsquo;s still whitetail season, and the editors of North American Hunter have you covered with articles on blood-trailing deer and the &amp;ldquo;curse&amp;rdquo; of scouting cam deer pics. North American Hunter is a member-exclusive magazine of the North American Hunting Club, the premier community for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts.
&amp;ldquo;There are two discordant camps regarding wolves in the North, largely a clash between the rural reality of living in close proximity to wolves, and the ideals of urbanites who&amp;rsquo;ve never seen a wolf &amp;ndash; but believe they must be protected at all costs, &amp;rdquo; said Gordy Krahn, Editor-in-Chief of North American Hunter. &amp;ldquo;We did thorough research on wolves and wolf hunting. We asked the most recognizable experts available today, including well-known wolf biologist Dr. David Mech, in order to provide our readers the best science-based facts on wolf hunting available today.&amp;rdquo;
Articles in this month&amp;rsquo;s issue include: &amp;ldquo;Blood-Trailing Case Studies&amp;rdquo; by Bill Winke; Luke Hartle shares with us how getting a big buck on a scout cam can be a blessing, or heartache, in &amp;ldquo;Worth a Thousand Words,&amp;rdquo; and for you waterfowlers, check out &amp;ldquo;Tumble Your Tundra Swan&amp;rdquo; by Mike Marsh. Lastly, visit Jeff Foxworthy&amp;rsquo;s column, &amp;ldquo;Parting Shots&amp;rdquo; with his experience on &amp;ldquo;Those Special Deer.&amp;rdquo; A great read for families to take in together.
And don&amp;rsquo;t miss the&amp;nbsp;HuntingClub.com &amp;ldquo;Online Exclusives,&amp;rdquo; which in this issue can be found on page four. NAH&amp;rsquo;s Web Editor, Josh Dalke, heads to Alberta for his chance at a 7-foot bruin. Also online is a Deer Photo contest available until Jan. 1, 2013. Just submit your best shot at HuntingClub.com/PhotoContest. Top voted photo will win valuable prizes.
Readers can easily navigate to &amp;ldquo;Online Exclusives&amp;rdquo; from the magazine with quick-access Web addresses or by scanning QR codes.
Regular articles include, &amp;ldquo;You Call the Shots,&amp;rdquo; with Krahn sharing his take on a possible fox shot and the column &amp;ldquo;Out West&amp;rdquo; is discussing more about wolf hunting in the lower 48. And, of course, Tom Miranda continues to bring insightful archery tips in his &amp;ldquo;Bowhunting&amp;rdquo; column.

    <title>Pheasant-Topia and Up Close Bear Hunting on This Week’s Episode of North American Hunter</title>
    <link>http://www.northamericanmediagroup.com/PRESS/tabid/84/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/19/Pheasant-Topia-and-Up-Close-Bear-Hunting-on-This-Weeks-Episode-of-North-American-Hunter.aspx</link>
    <description>Minnetonka, MN &amp;ndash; Pheasant fanatics are gearing up for the big opener on October 20 in South Dakota. So it&amp;rsquo;s good timing the crew at North American Hunter took to the fields last fall for a little pheasant fun while host, Mark Kayser, went WAY up north to get his adrenaline pumping in a close encounter of the black bear kind on this week&amp;rsquo;s North American Hunter.

Bill Miller takes to South Dakota&amp;rsquo;s snowy corn fields in a late season ring-neck pheasant trip with old friend, Brian Kelvington of Federal Premium Ammunition. &amp;ldquo;South Dakota is truly a hunter&amp;rsquo;s paradise. And shooting, while that&amp;rsquo;s a lot of fun, is only a small part of the enjoyment,&amp;rdquo; said Miller during the show.

While the guys had a friendly competition happening, the birds were certainly proving challenging. &amp;ldquo;Even though this is a preserve, these birds are not put out just for you to take. They are out all season and before and are truly the equivalent of wild birds,&amp;rdquo; mentioned Miller. Viewers will have to tune in to see whose shooting was on target!

Meanwhile, host Mark Kayser traveled to northern Alberta where the black bears approach him in &amp;ldquo;handshaking distance.&amp;rdquo;

&amp;ldquo;I was ready to get a little more personal with these bears. I wanted to be on the ground face-to-face,&amp;rdquo; said Kayser during the show. And boy did he ever get close! One yearling bear got so curious as to what was happening with Kayser&amp;rsquo;s ground blind, that Kayser eventually had to bring out his shooting sticks and whap the young&amp;rsquo;un&amp;rsquo; on the nose to stay out!

The following day, a boar and sow came to check out the ground blind area. The sow got too close and the boar had to come back to warn her off. But that was his demise &amp;ndash; and Kayser&amp;rsquo;s arrow was true as he took down the giant black bear. &amp;ldquo;This was one of the most exciting hunts in a long time. To have something this big and that close, with no fear, it was amazing,&amp;rdquo; said Kayser.

Don&amp;rsquo;t miss the &amp;ldquo;HuntingClub.com&amp;rdquo; teasers, typically found on page two of each issue. &amp;ldquo;Our website is dynamic; we&amp;rsquo;re constantly delivering new blog posts, articles, videos and gear giveaways&amp;rdquo; said North American Hunter Web Editor Josh Dahlke. &amp;ldquo;We like to showcase particular &amp;lsquo;Online Exclusives&amp;rsquo; on the HuntingClub.com page in the magazine to give Club members a heads-up about current features they can find online.&amp;rdquo;

Readers can easily navigate to &amp;ldquo;Online Exclusives&amp;rdquo; from the magazine with quick-access Web addresses or by scanning QR codes.

    <description>Minnetonka, MN &amp;ndash; White-tailed deer hunting during a drought in Kansas and a second-chance color-phase blonde bear in Manitoba is what&amp;rsquo;s on tap for this week&amp;rsquo;s episode of North American Hunter. Co-hosts Mark Kayser and Luke Hartle each have their own challenges this week as they battle bad weather and their own stamina. Tune in to North American Hunter on NBC Sports Tuesdays at 10 a.m., Thursdays at 2:30 p.m., Fridays at 11 a.m. and Sundays at 11:30 p.m. (ET). North American Hunter is part of the North American Hunting Club, the premier community for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts.

First up is Mark Kayser, who&amp;rsquo;s in the midst of muzzleloader season in Kansas. But the hot, dry and windy weather throws him and his guide for a spin. &amp;ldquo;Kansas is the breadbasket of America. But unfortunately, by the time we arrived, there were just crumbs,&amp;rdquo; said Kayser during the show. &amp;ldquo;It was so dry, conditions weren&amp;rsquo;t great for whitetails.&amp;rdquo;

After a few days of trying to figure out the deer herd&amp;rsquo;s odd patterns, and a few missed opportunities thanks to other predators, Kayser finally is able to take a shot at a large 8-pointer with a wide spread.

Up next is Luke Hartle, who is bowhunting for bears at Agassiz-Waterhen River Lodge and Outfitters owned by Rick and Colleen Liske, in the inter-lake region of Manitoba. &amp;ldquo;I&amp;rsquo;ve spent a lot of time bear hunting before, but coming to this place in Manitoba with the overwhelming success at this camp with color-phase bears is phenomenal,&amp;rdquo; said Hartle during the show.

Hartle is so excited to finally be in the stand that he passes up on his first cinnamon bear on the first day. No cubs were around this sow, but Hartle wanted to extend the hunt a little longer. The second day, after a restless night sleep, Hartle exclaims that if that bear gives him a second chance, he&amp;rsquo;ll take it.&amp;nbsp; And by the end of the second day, guess who showed up underneath his stand once again? This time, Hartle didn&amp;rsquo;t mince words as he drew back his bow for a clean shot on the sow.

&amp;ldquo;I&amp;rsquo;ve hunted bears with the Liskes three times now, and I&amp;rsquo;m just getting started. Who else can boast an annual harvest of 40 percent color-phase bears&amp;mdash;many surpassing the 7-foot mark&amp;mdash;with a 100 percent shot-opportunity rate?&amp;rdquo; said Hartle.

100,000 Kids in the Outdoors has a unique, but simple, concept. &amp;ldquo;I came across 100,000 Kids in the Outdoors through Facebook, and my relationship with the founder, Shannon Young, has grown exponentially,&amp;rdquo; said Hartle. &amp;ldquo;What these guys are doing is selfless, commendable and real.&amp;rdquo;

    <description>MINNETONKA, MN&amp;mdash;It&amp;rsquo;s time to bring home the bacon&amp;mdash;Texas-style&amp;mdash;during this week&amp;rsquo;s episode of Winchester&amp;rsquo;s Deadly Passion with host Melissa Bachman.&amp;nbsp; Watch as she heads to Texas to help with the serious feral hog problem on a rancher&amp;rsquo;s land. With Melissa&amp;rsquo;s deadly aim and fun personality, this trip makes for must-see TV.&amp;nbsp; Watch Winchester&amp;rsquo;s Deadly Passion, produced by North American Media Group, on the Pursuit Channel on Tuesdays at 7:30 a.m., and Fridays at 12 a.m. (EST).

&amp;ldquo;Feral hogs were once largely a rural or agricultural issue in Texas, inflicting over $52 million in damage annually,&amp;rdquo; said Dr. Billy Higginbotham, AgriLife Extension wildlife specialist. &amp;ldquo;But the porkers have literally moved to town and are now causing significant damage in urban and suburban communities.&amp;rdquo;

&amp;ldquo;This was a thrilling adventure for me, and I look forward to getting back to Texas to help eradicate the hog problem,&amp;rdquo; Melissa said. &amp;ldquo;Unless you&amp;rsquo;ve been there to personally see the damage hogs cause, you can&amp;rsquo;t imagine how extensive it is.&amp;rdquo;

Winchester&amp;rsquo;s Deadly Passion takes viewers on heart-pounding adventures around the globe, as Melissa matches wits with New Zealand stags, Midwestern whitetails and gators in the Deep South. This season, viewers also witnessed an 11-day, self-guided quest for a unique unicorn mule deer, plus adrenaline-packed hunts for species ranging from world-class Alaskan bruins to razor-tusked wild boars.

Through it all, Melissa&amp;rsquo;s style of relentless pursuit puts fans on the edge of their seats, while her trademark, down-home charm wins their hearts. &amp;ldquo;Melissa&amp;rsquo;s the real deal when it comes to hunting, but her personality keeps you coming back for more,&amp;rdquo; said Executive Producer Rick Dow.

Melissa lives for the outdoors&amp;mdash;spending about 140 days each year in the stand or stalking animals. She was raised in a hard-working, small-town hunting family in central Minnesota. From a young age, she wanted to be on camera, and eventually worked her way to learn how to film, produce and host TV&amp;mdash;and wound up at North American Media Group. In 2010 she started Deadly Passion Productions and continues to give seminars, in addition to sharing her hunting adventures via blogging at My Take. Today, she&amp;rsquo;s a triple threat with her skills on and off camera&amp;mdash;and her talents with a bow and gun.
